After repair, Hyundai sells cars damaged in Tianjin Port accident to meet standards

It has been almost a year since the August 12th Tianjin Port explosion accident. Recently, the official Weibo account of Hyundai Motor China released a statement on the sale of slightly damaged imported Hyundai vehicles from Tianjin Port. It was mentioned that 1008 slightly damaged vehicles located on the periphery at the time of the explosion had been repaired and met the quality standards of Hyundai's imported new cars. The above-mentioned vehicles will be put on sale from July 13th.

At present, Hyundai has not officially announced specific car models. We consulted with Hyundai's imported car dealers about this, and they revealed that this batch of new cars includes models such as Gree, Genesis, and possibly Veloster. However, the final confirmed list of car models is still unknown. In addition, the dealer stated that this batch of cars will arrive at the store in early August, and not all dealers have cars.

Declaration on the sale of slightly damaged imported modern vehicles from Tianjin Port

Hyundai Motor (China) has handed over all imported Hyundai vehicles that were damaged by fire at the scene of the August 12th Tianjin Port explosion to the Tianjin Municipal Government for destruction, in accordance with the statement issued after the accident.

At the time of the incident, 1008 vehicles located on the periphery of the explosion center only had minor external scratches or partial damage caused by foreign objects falling from the parking area. The vehicles had normal functionality and safety performance, and after repair, they met the quality standards of modern imported new cars.

To confirm the actual condition of the above-mentioned vehicles, our company commissioned a professional organization to conduct strict inspections on them.

On September 10th and 14th, 2015, Tianjin Automotive Testing Center, recognized by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, conducted vehicle sampling testing on internal air quality;

On September 14th and 20th, 2015, a team of experts from the vehicle manufacturer Hyundai Motor Co., Ltd. conducted a comprehensive inspection and testing of all vehicles;

On April 11th and 13th, 2016, China Inspection and Certification Group Tianjin Co., Ltd., authorized by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, and internationally renowned professional quality testing and certification organization Dekai Quality Certification (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (DEKRA) conducted vehicle sampling testing for chemical substances inside vehicles;

On June 20th and 24th, 2016, a team of quality department experts from the vehicle manufacturer, Hyundai Motor Co., Ltd., conducted a comprehensive inspection and testing of all vehicles.

The above inspection and testing results all prove that the 1008 vehicles do not have any special quality problems caused by explosion accidents.

Therefore, our company has decided to start selling the above-mentioned vehicles from July 13, 2016. The sales principles of this batch of vehicles are hereby announced as follows:

1. Sales channels:

The above-mentioned vehicles will be sold through our company's authorized dealer network for imported Hyundai brands.

2. Obligation to inform:

Our company will require dealers to truthfully inform consumers in writing of the vehicle status when selling the above-mentioned vehicles, and transactions can only be conducted on the premise that consumers are informed and agree to accept.

3. Repair obligation:
